FOR THIS WEEKEND only, the RDS has been transformed into a craft beer lover’s paradise.
The Irish Craft Beer Festival has brought tons of Irish brewers together to show off their wares, and some of them have gotten very creative.
If you’re heading down and want to try something a little unusual, here are our picks…
White Sow Oatmeal Chocolate Milk Stout, White Hag Brewery
Martins Off License Martins Off License
This one has “hints of toast, vanilla, chocolate and coffee”. Basically, a beer dessert.
Seaweed Saison, Dungarvan Brewing Company
We know what you’re thinking, “WTF, a seaweed beer?” But the dillisk (dried seaweed) added to the beer apparently gives it a ‘peppery spiciness’.
Heatsink smoked chilli porter, Metalman Brewery

This porter is brewed with Cayenne pepper to give some “chilli warmth” to the end result. Have a pint of milk handy.
Vincent Van Coff, Mountain Man Brewing
Specially brewed for the festival, this one contains coffee and vanilla. Props for the amazing name, all the same.
Duxie Grapefruit Tea Pale Ale, Jack Cody’s
O'Briens Wine O'Briens Wine
This is a bit more on the refreshing side after all that coffee and chilli beer.
Watermelon wheat ale, Rye River Brewing Company
Another one cooked up especially for the festival. At least you could say “I been drinkin’ watermelon” á la Beyoncé?

This couple erected a ‘weed tent’ and gave free weed to guests at their wedding>
